YOUR STORYBOOK?
We so enjoy creating a Storybook for our Clients! Here we started with a two-story empty space that would showcase cars. Inspired by the owners love for high performance automobiles, we created a space where everything would be built from moving parts or materials from automobiles. The concept began when one of our designers found an exquisite carbon steel fiber watch and imagined the face as a race track. it evolved when she added the frame of a Bugatti, Type 35, classic model sports car (the iconic Grand Prix of all cars) to the track which would hang on the wall as though it was racing around the track. The track would all be accomplished with a trompe l’ oeil (trick of the eye) painting as shown here in our 3D SketchUp drawing and the Bugatti frame was an authentic replica. This idea was seen as telling a story of a great way for spending leisure time. Columns were designed to separate areas where high performance car logos would be displayed around the room, lighted from within a Digital LED Light Box. The walls were designed of a faux leather representing upholstery, the railing was made of glass for the windshield, it was held together by stainless steel components which was reminiscent of a car chassis and the railing was topped with a high polished burl wood handrail representing, of course, a car steering wheel. We can begin a project with most any inspiration. Our ultimate goal, however, is always to tell the personal story of our clients. Together with their influence the final design is achieved and when it tells the story of our clients, we are truly ecstatic.
Warm & Cozy Music Room
Seeing this work in progress was a delight for us. The English Walnut paneling adorned by silver leaf mouldings is an unbeatable package all ready to wrap a room filled with music and literature. The silver leaf ceiling tops off the gorgeous room that we take hats off to the craftsman who put it together.
